The second generation Volkswagen Tiguan is a model available in Africa with more space and with a very good cost-benefit ratio. The Tiguan is an SUV produced by the German brand since 2007, quite new when compared to the segment's benchmarks, the RAV4 and Honda CR-V. The first generation came to be called the GTi of SUVs, due to its sporty driving sensations.
Mechanics
Under the hood in our market 2 engines are offered; the entry-level versions will receive a 1.4 turbo engine of 150 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, driven by a 6-speed DSG transmission. It is not the most powerful in the segment, however the engine response is quite good, due to the excellent work of its DSG transmission. While the top version is equipped with a 2.0 turbo engine of 180 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque, driven by a 7-speed DSG transmission. This is the only engine offered with 4-wheel drive.

Equipment
In terms of safety, all versions are equipped with ABS brakes with EBD, stability and traction control, 6 airbags, parking sensors and ISOFIX anchorages. An infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and 8 speakers is offered in all versions. The high-end version receives a digital dashboard cluster similar to Audi.

Externally, all versions offer LED daytime running lights, 17″ wheels in the entry version, 18″ for the intermediate version and 19″ in the most equipped ones. The intermediate version offers full LED headlights and the top version adds a panoramic roof.
The Volkswagen Tiguan 2022 can be purchased in Africa from USD $27,900 for the base version and $32,500 for the intermediate version, both in 1.4-liter engine. While the 2.0-liter version goes up to USD $39,900 with AWD system. Finally, the R-Line version can be purchased at a cost of USD $45,000.
